| MySofia | Oct 12, 2007 8:12pm | I managed to post a few photos from the two days I spent in Oban. This was my first overnight in Scotland; I flew from the U.S. and the promptly caught a CityLink bus over to Oban. At the time I was more in the mood for scenery than city life, and I was so happy that I ended up in Oban for my first two nights - ever - in this beautiful country. It just got better from there, as I proceeded on to Islay, but that is another set of pictures.

A Costa Coffee in Oban ! Sacrilege ! Things must have changed a bit since I was last there. |

I loved "hostelling" it. It was a great way to travel solo. I think maybe I will write a post just about the various hostels. I stayed in some very lovely locations, right in the heart of things, that I never could have afforded otherwise. The hostel in Port Charlotte, Islay, was particularly wonderful. |

She was a lovely, intelligent, kind person, but at 3 a.m. you do tend to mutter a bit to yourself if a roommate prevents you from getting your beauty rest! :-) |
