It was pretty naive to expect that Westminster would give up oil revenues. No doubt SNP will expect Westminster to fund Independence as compensation for their loss. Don't hold your breath.

' The Scottish Government will not be allowed to gain control over North Sea oil revenues, a UK minister has warned.
Before the election, the SNP said it wanted early talks with Westminster about the transfer of responsibility to the Scottish Parliament. But Scotland Office minister David Cairns will tell an oil conference that the UK Government has "no intention" of devolving control of oil and gas.

It comes as analysts suggest production is down despite massive investment. '

Actually, thinking about it, getting control over the N. Sea oil could be a good argument against devolution. If we had it then there's a good chance that at some point the U.S. will feel the need to come over and start bombing us. Alex S'Al Mond better be careful :D

The north sea oil will really start to run out within the next 25 years but just wait to see what happens when they can get to the oil below the Atlantic economically(Then scotland could be a world force in oil again )

Dunno that it will ever really be economic, oil's value is in part that it is mass used, once it really starts to become rarer, then yes, the price will rise. But the demand will fall, it won't be economic for most purposes anymore, and the 'luxury' ones won't be enough to fund the huge expense of extracting it in bulk. On the other hand, enzyme based ethanol production tech is improving all the time... and you can use bracken as a source for that :D

I think we should all eat more beans and utilize wind/methane power

Make Scotland no1 in the fart stakes.
